It would be difficult to imagine a less likely named venue to record and film Schubert's divine music but for those familiar with this legendary concert hall, it will come as no surprise that Marina Yakhlakova needed no persuasion whatsoever to decide on this superb acoustic of this venue for her first DVD project.

After five long but wonderful years, Marina has graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. At the ceremony, she joined her fellow classmates for their presentation where she was awarded the Red Certificate for academic and artist excellence over the course of the five years.

However, despite the intensification, the spirit of chamber music remains; we forget that there is neither singer nor lyrics, because Liszt’s imagination is such that it gives the sensation of hearing both.’

In April this year Marina Yakhlakova made a return visit to Australia for her concerto debut with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Vassilis Christopoulos,  also making his debut with the orchestra. Having now visited Australia on three occasions...
